tha development program

how it works

Transform Hockey Academy (THA) offers a comprehensive educational and athletic program designed to cater to the needs of students in grades 7 through 12. With academics modeled after the successful Canadian Sports School through SIDES (South Island Distant Education). THA provides a unique educational experience tailored specifically to student-athletes, ensuring they can effectively balance academic pursuits with athletic endeavors while fulfilling all graduation requirements in British Columbia.

THA integrates academic instruction with athletic development to equip student-athletes with the skills and knowledge necessary for success both on and off the ice. Within our program, THA caters to both Middle School (grades 7-8) and High School (grades 9-12) cohorts, offering a comprehensive educational curriculum alongside specialized training in hockey.

At Transform Hockey Academy, we are committed to nurturing well-rounded student-athletes who excel academically, athletically, and personally, providing them with the tools and resources necessary to thrive in all aspects of life.

Our Development Programs (Grades 7-12, divided into two groups) are structured to accommodate students of various skill levels, allowing them to play on their current teams/leagues.

The Academy Program is structured around four fundamental pillars:

academics

Students engage with the British Columbia public school curriculum for Grades 7-12, delivered through the South Island Distance Education School (SIDES). In a private school setting, student-athletes have access to a wide range of sport-specific credit options and core courses, ensuring they meet academic standards while pursuing their athletic goals.

strength training

Utilizing our state-of-the-art Transform Performance Centre, students receive personalized strength training programs tailored to their individual needs. These programs cover various aspects such as strength, power, speed, mobility, stability, and skill training, aimed at enhancing athletic performance while minimizing the risk of injury.

on-ice development

Professional coaches conduct comprehensive on-ice training sessions that focus on skating, skill enhancement, and goalie training. Our 40-week program is meticulously designed to elevate players' performance and advance their hockey careers.

SPECIALIZED SPORTS COURSES

In alignment with the Canadian Sports School model, our students participate in specially designed, credit-bearing courses tailored for athletes. This unique approach is particularly advantageous for those aspiring to compete at the NCAA and USports levels, making us the first hockey academy to implement this educational model.
